Additional sessions have been scheduled. The goal is for ALL 5th and 8th grade students to take their Chromebooks home on December 3rd, 2018.
Prior to Taking a Chromebook Home
A parent and his/her child MUST attend ONE of our Chromebook TechEquity sessions prior to students taking their Chromebooks home. Select the session you will be attending and return this letter to your teacher.

| Dear 5th and 8th Grade Parents,
In our continuous efforts to provide the best education and opportunities for our students, the District is excited to announce our Chromebook TechEquity Take Home initiative. This initiative will begin with all 5th and 8th grade students taking their Chromebooks home each night beginning on Monday, December 3rd.
The Purpose
Berkeley School District 87 believes bringing Chromebooks home will:
- promote equitable technology access outside of the school day
- extend learning beyond the school day
- allow for collaboration to support student learning
- provide access to digital content and tools used during the school day
- provide parents the opportunity to see the tools students are learning with throughout the school day
