Family Reading and ISAT Night
Riley school held a family night on January 21, 2010. The focus of the evening was to provide and teach parents specific reading activities and strategies they can work with their children at home and to understand what the ISAT test is and the importance of understanding and preparing the students.
Mr. Little presented information about the upcoming ISAT test which will be conducted for all 3rd-5th grade students during the first two weeks of March. There were also practice ISAT samples and practice ISAT books for parents to take home to work with their children to work on in preparation for the test.
The parents then worked at three different reading centers that focused on vocabulary, making words, and specific independent reading strategies.
A special thanks goes out to all of the teachers, parents, students, and administrators that attended this event.
The next family night will be held on Wednesday March 17, 2010.
